About Lauren

Screen shot 2014-11-15 at 6.27.35 PMI’m Lauren, a second-year seminary student at Andover Newton Theological School. I am a licensed minister in the Church of the Brethren, exploring my call to ministry as a Christian leader in a religiously diverse world. This blog is intended to be a spiritual practice, and a way to thoughtfully reflect on my seminary and Boston experiences, share my adventures and lessons with loved ones, and stay connected to my congregation, Stone Church of the Brethren. If you are reading this, I am deeply thankful for your support, encouragement, and prayers.

Agape: the Greek word used in the New Testament to describe both God and God’s divine and covenantal love for humankind. In response to this kind of love, the reciprocal human love for God is one that necessarily extends to others.

Latte: a coffee drink made with espresso and steamed milk. My personal drink of choice, most often enjoyed by sipping slowly, while sharing in good and thoughtful conversations.

Agape Latte: a twentysomething seminarian’s ongoing conversations with the Divine love that is God, and with you.
